TIPS & TRICKS FOR
KID CLEAN UP AND STORAGE

No one knows how to make a mess quite like kids. Check out these amazing solutions to cleaning up messes made with those sticky fingers with items you already have at home! And if storage is an issue, these fantastic re-purposed storage solutions may just be the key to keep all kid things in its place!

CLEAN UP

MAYO AS STICKER REMOVER

Apply a generous amount of mayonnaise to persistent stickers and remove with a putty knife.

FABRIC SOFTNER AS BARBIE HAIR DETANGELER

Add a few drops of fabric softner to a cup of water. Dip a comb in the mixture and brush out the hair in sections to detangle the knotty mess.

GLITTER REMOVER

Use a lint remover to catch glitter spills.

CRAYON ERASER

Sprinkle baking soda or WD-40 onto a damp sponge or cloth and rub away!

PERMANANT MARKER REMOVER

Pour rubbing alcohol onto a cotton swab or cloth and rub onto countertops or walls to remove permanant marker stains. (Test in small area fist.)

GUM REMOVER

Remove stuck-on gum by rubbing a baggie filled with ice cubes on it until the goo hardens. Then shatter with a blunt object and vacuum it up.

STORAGE

WIRE PLANTERS AS TOY STORAGE

Hang toys and books low on the wall in wire planted for easy reach (and easy put away!).

SHOWER CADDY
Shower caddy as to-go toy storage for play dates.

ARTS & CRAFTS ORGANIZATION

Place plastic cups in an old muffin baking pan to store different craft items.

EASTER EGGS AS SNACK CONTAINERS

This really is as simple as it sounds. It's easy for kids to access during school lunches and play dates, and it's a great way to re-use these holiday favorites year round!

LAUNDRY BASKET AS TOY STORAGE
Add some color to your kid storage with an old hamper or laundry basket.

APRON FOR ART STORAGE

Make your kid feel like an artist with their very own apron supply pouch. The easier it is to reach, the easier it is to put things away when they are done!

STRING AND CLIPS

Use a clothesline and clothespins to attach your kid's artwork in a temporary exhibit!

COLORED TAPE AS FRAMES

Use colored painter's tape to make temporary wall frames for your kids' artwork.

POKER CADDY AS PENCIL HOLDER

Add some playing cards to the edge of a poker set to organize colored pencils and markers by color.

MAGNETS

Add magnets to the back of small toys and puzzle pieces for easy storage.

SHOE RACK AS TOY ORGANIZER

Try this solution to keeping all your kids' stuffed animals in one place! An over the door shoe rack would also be a great solution for this storage problem.

VELCRO FOR TOY STORAGE

Attach a strip of velrco on the wall to stick all fluffy stuffed animals and puppets for an easy find!

DAY OF THE WEEK CLOSET ORGANIZER

Plan out outfits or activities ahead of time, so there is no confusion or arguing in the morning when choosing your child's outfit.
