CRAYONS & COLORED PENCILS

There's nothing like scent to bring back memories, and when it comes to crayons, that's no exception. Crayons are one of the most recognized scents in the world, bringing back sweet memories of day care, coloring books, and arts & crafts. So it comes to no surprise, that this medium has managed to evolve beyond it's original purpose throughout the years, to become something bigger than itself.

Piggybacking on yesterday's post on Herb William's crayon sculptures, check out some more amazing ways these artists take the everyday crayon (and colored pencils) to make new and exciting work.

And don't forget to follow the DIY links to make some crayon and colored pencils crafts yourself!

  1. Cool post. Lots of ideas coming to mind. I'm gonna make a candleholder/sculpture of a dog that becomes an afghan hound if you melt enough candles in it. Am I right? Inspired by the melted crayon art.
