TIPS & TRICKS FOR
FLOWERS AND PLANTS
FLOWER ARRANGING
Crumple plastic bags inside a flower pot to minimize the amount of dirt needed. (Make sure you don't cover the drainage holes at the bottom, if your pot has one!)
Add straws to the stems of your flower for extra length!
Add a rubber band to the base of your flowers to arrange them as wanted.
FLOWER CARE
Use a turkey baster to remove dirty water and add fresh water to your flowers without ruining your arrangement.
Add a couple drops of bleach to your flower arrangements to help them last longer!
Don't waste the water you use to boil eggs in! There are wonderful nutrients in it to help your plants grow!
To keep your plants hydrated while on a trip, place a towel in a bathtub or sink and sill with 2 inches of water. Thoroughly water the houseplants and place them on top of the towel to soak up the water!
VASE CLEANING
List residue from vases by filling the vase with water and two antacid tablets. Let sit for a few minutes, wipe and rinse.
If you don't have antacid tablets at home, try the same steps above with denture tablets!
Use broken eggshells to help clean the hard to reach spots in your vases by mixing them with hot water and a few drops of dish washing liquids and shaking. Don't forget to rinse after!
Add a teaspoon of rise and a lot of soapy water to shake out any residue still left inside of vases.
